The British Academy of Film and Television Arts or BAFTA 2019 introduced the nominees in key classes for the upcoming 72nd version of the award presentation, which is commonly dubbed because of the British Oscars. The Hollywood award season lately began with the Golden Globe awards, which concluded over the weekend the place Bohemian Rhapsody, a movie on Queen and its frontman Freddie Mercury’s meteoric rise within the music business, baffled everybody by winning the coveted Best Film (Drama) prize. It defeated this season’s favourite A Star Is Born headlined by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper (additionally the movie’s director). For BAFTA, Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star Is Born will compete in seven classes together with First Man and Roma.

However, Yorgos Lanthimos’ interval piece, The Favourite, leads nomination with 12 nods together with Best Film, Outstanding British Film and Best Director. Olivia Colman can also be nominated for Leading Actress for her function as Queen Anne, and Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone are each nominated for Supporting Actress.

Lady Gaga will compete with Olivia Colman in Best Actress class for her function in A Star Is Born, which can also be nominated in Best Actor, Best Director, Original Music and Best Film classes. At the Globes, Lady Gaga picked the Best Original Song award.
